33. Reflecting on Living in Beauty

Hello! Welcome to this sacred space … to this quiet moment …

to our reflective, meditative time together!

I’m Bill Bauman, and I’m deeply honored

to invite us to reflect together now on …

… living in beauty!

Isn’t this an interesting focus—living in beauty?

I think so. But, right up front, I’d like to clarify that

we’re not referring to ‘beauty’ as the opposite of ‘ugly’ or ‘un-beautiful.’

I’m inviting us to a focus that is far beyond such duality-based distinctions.

Today, we’re looking at beauty through a more spiritual lens, a more light-based lens.

Through this more soulful lens, we leave duality far behind

and see everything through the mind-blowing, soul-inspired lens of

oneness.

I would like to start by asking you this question:

When you look at yourself or look out at the world around you,

do you see beauty?

Do you see everything and everyone, including yourself,

as a living embodiment of beauty?

If so, wow, good for you! Thank you!

If not, even if it’s just a little ‘not,’

what do you hear if you ask yourself ‘why not?’

If not, could it be that you’re looking mainly through dualistic eyes—

the very eyes that we humans have been trained to specialize in,

the eyes that are coached to apply moralistic and dualistic judgments

(judgments such as good/bad, right/wrong, fair/unfair, beautiful/ugly)

to whatever we’re looking at—

rather than through ‘other’ eyes that are also yours?

Speaking of other eyes, let’s look at everything in life—

you, those around you, nature, human circumstances, your job,

your friends and everything else that most people have opinions about—

through your purely heartful, soulful, spiritual eyes.

As you shift your style and mode of vision to these eyes,

what are you starting to see now?

While you’re adjusting to your purely spiritual vision,

allow me to take a moment and share with you some of my thoughts

about what your infinite spirit sees,

what your oneness-oriented soul sees,

even what your personal energy field sees

when those ‘bigger-than-human’ qualities of you’ become your eyes of preference.

First, let’s recall that you are an infinite being as well as a finite one.

You are a soulful presence as well as a human one.

You are an energetically interconnected you as well as a separate you.

And you are a oneness-oriented phenomenon as well as a duality-oriented one.

In all these ways, this ‘heartful, energetic, soulful, spiritual you’

deserves an equal place in your vision and consciousness

as does the stereotypical ‘human you.’

Second, let’s recall that our spiritual and soulful self sees everyone and everything

through what we can call purely divine and quantum eyes.

Yes, we see exactly the same way that the divine and quantum source does—

that is, without relying on any of duality’s evaluations and judgments.

We see the simple, unsullied truth of people, things and circumstances.

We see the underlying beauty of every created form and expression.

We see the pure wonder of people’s presence and of earth’s organic expressions.

We see the awesome “created in the image and likeness of God” quality

that is inherent in everyone and everything.

How are you doing? What are you seeing now,

as you’re looking through your spiritual, soulful eyes?

Are you able to see what you’re focusing on without evaluative judgments,

and through the eyes of pure truth?

Are you now seeing yourself and others without such preconceptions,

letting these ‘other’ eyes embrace your and their inherent beauty?

While you’re fine-tuning your soul-centered vision,

allow me to make two other points about the ‘divine and quantum you,’

the ‘soulful you,’ the ‘spiritual you,’ the ‘infinite you.’

First, scientifically speaking, your human brain is actually equipped

to support your spirit’s unified vision as well as your mind’s divided vision.

Also, your human mind, duality-focused as it has been trained to be,

is equally programmable to think oneness-oriented thoughts

as well as duality-oriented ones.

At the bottom line, your human consciousness is equipped with deeper and higher minds,

all of which are naturally oriented toward ‘seeing’ beauty and pure truth.

Second, let’s look at what you see when you’re looking through your spiritual eyes:

· You see each person’s divinity, their divine reality,

their divine beauty, their quantum perfection

· You see each person’s deservingness and worth,

despite their human personalities and seeming abnormalities

· You see life’s unpredictabilities and inconsistencies

as expressions of possibilities creatively manifesting

rather than as perplexing problems

· You see creation itself, and every manifestation of

as a wonder-filled expression of mystery and beauty

rather than as limiting or hurtful

· You see differences as infinite possibilities

being creatively expressed, and

· You see yourself and everything through the eyes

of simple beauty.

In short, you are the infinite beauty of creation

seeing and experiencing that beauty

in all its endless forms and expressions.

You are the beauty of infinity

witnessing yourself as a finite expression of that same beauty.

You are a divinely infused soul,

here on earth to bless our earth and all its life forms,

simply by seeing and celebrating its innate beauty.

Also, you are a most wondrous and luminous being of light,

alive in human skin and capable of realizing your ‘light-ness’

by seeing it—and its innate beauty—in all things.

So, as we bring our brief time today to a close,

may I have the privilege of seeing, really seeing, your inherent beauty,

celebrating your wonder and acclaiming your divinity!

May I also thank you for embodying such endless beauty,

for radiating your beauty everywhere

simply by being you and by being present here on earth

with the rest of us beauty-filled beings,

as you celebrate our universally shared human trait—

pure, simple, precious and magnificent beauty!
