31. Reflecting through the Eyes of ...

Hello! Welcome to this sacred space … to this quiet moment …
to our reflective, meditative time together!
I’m Bill Bauman, and today I’m honored
to invite us to reflect on …
… Looking through the eyes of …
“Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder,” right?
Well, if we really look closely at how life here on earth works,
everything is in the eye of the beholder!
Recent research has revealed to us that what we see—
or should I say what we ‘think we see’?—
is determined much more by our brain’s and mind’s interpretations
than by what we are actually looking at ‘out there.’
That’s why I wanted to spend this time with you today—
so that you and I can reflect on what and how we are seeing
as we look out at the world around us,
or even as we look within our very own selves …
and realize that we have a choice about which eyes to look through.
That last statement leads us to a really important point:
You and I have several lenses, or sets of eyes.
That’s right—we possess many kinds of vision through which we can look
at ourselves, the world, life and, well everything.
And that ‘everything’ looks quite different when seen through each lens.
Let’s journey briefly today into four of those sets of eyes.
Let’s start, of course, with our well-known, traditional human eyes,
the eyes whose vision is influenced and regulated
by our hard-wired brain and our 3-dimension-focused minds.
When we’re looking out through these eyes,
as most of us naturally do on a daily basis, what do we see?
We see a world that looks physical and real,
a world that looks filled with important meanings and responsibilities.
We see a world that appears to us as one of duality—
where we view separate individuals, each with unique traits.
It’s a world that is dedicated to support these differences and opposites.
You and I know this human world quite well—it is, after all, our daily fare!
Now, let’s look through another set of eyes—our spiritual eyes.
With these light-filled eyes, we don’t see duality and opposites at all.
As we look out at the very same world, including its same human inhabitants,
we see a world that shows itself to us not as dualistic and individualistic,
but as unified, as united, as one!
Through our spiritual eyes, we see everyone unified as one
and we see ourselves united with others, nature and all creation.
We see everyone and everything as an incarnated reflection of the divine,
and we relate to them as finite expressions of infinite light.
But wait. Let’s look through another set of eyes—the eyes of our energy.
That’s right—your magnetically alive energy, your electrically charged chakras,
your primally driven body, your electro-magnetic field,
your dynamically empowered aura, your energetic human self.
What do you see when you look through the eyes of this ‘energy-rich you’?
In short, you see a powerfully inter-connected world,
one filled with an inter-dependent family of energetically alive life forms …
an intermingled world of seemingly separate beings
whose separate-ness instantly yields to an interwoven energy field
wherein energetic flow becomes the language
and delicious harmony is the effect.
Third, let’s open ourselves to the visual field that appears
through the eyes of pure love.
These are the expansive eyes that belong to your beating heart.
When you look through those eyes, all you see is love.
Yes, you’re smitten! You’re in love!
You’re passionately one with everyone and everything around you!
You see every person as worthy and deserving of your love,
and you see yourself as filled with love’s magic potion and power.
Everywhere you turn, your only choice is to fall in love,
to live in love, to play in love and to express love.
Are you in love?
If I may be so bold as to answer—Yes, indeed, you are!
The “heartful you” only knows love, only sees love, only experiences love.
The heartful you sees the deepest truth of everyone and everything—
the truth of their endless magnificence and splendor,
the truth of their unquestioned deservingness and worth,
the truth of their inherent value and loveable-ness,
regardless of our mind’s more psychological interpretations!
Yes, you are in love!
When you look at anything—externally or internally—
through those magical eyes of your love-rich heart,
you become love, you are love, you love—period.
Finally, let’s look at one more set of eyes—your quantum eyes!
What does “the quantum you” see?
After all, ‘this you’ is completely empty, composed of pure nothing-ness
and not cluttered with pre-suppositions about anything.
First and foremost, you see possibilities—
endless possibilities, amazing possibilities, every possible possibility!
For example, you see everyone as a living embodiment of possibilities
and everything as a possibility living out the fantasy of being a something!
You see the world as a multitude of possibilities being played out
in a dream-like, story-book-like, movie-like projection and experience.
You see yourself as several possibilities all wrapped up together,
living themselves out in and as the human version of you,
fulfilling their potential by dreaming themselves as tangibly real.
There’s more. The ‘quantum you’ sees illusion and fantasy,
pretend and make-believe, mystery and magic—everywhere!
Unhampered by the concepts of reality, form and ego,
your quantum self is enthralled by the wonder of unexplainable mystery,
enchanted by the magic of so-called reality,
mesmerized by the illusion of every creation
and captivated by the endlessness of absolute nothing-ness.
Yes, that’s the scene that appears when you’re looking through
your very own quantum eyes!
Well, we’ve just had quite a visual feast and pictorial journey, haven’t we?
As we complete our special time together today,
I want to invite you to continue our eye-centered journey.
I invite you to invite yourself:
· to look regularly through your spiritual eyes
· to look regularly through your energy-rich eyes
· to look regularly through your heart’s eyes of love, an
· to look regularly through your quantum eyes.
I also invite you to look through any other eyes that you might find within yourself—
for example:
· your divine and divinely inspired eyes
· the eyes of your pure essence and being-ness
· your body’s primally-alive, organically perceptive eyes
· the eyes of the very space and time in which you live
· the eyes of the endless infinity that fills you, and
· the eyes of the multi-verse and inter-dimensionality.
As you can see, the number of eyes within you and me is almost limitless.
How fortunate we are to possess, and have the privilege of,
seeing through the life-changing eyes of each and every one of them!
Thank you!
