13. Reflecting on LIVING IN MYSTERY

Hello! Welcome to this sacred space … welcome to this quiet moment …

to a reflective and meditative time together!

Let’s reflect now on … LIVING IN MYSTERY!

Theoretical physicist Fred Alan Wolf once made a remarkable assertion:

“The real trick of life,” he said, “is not to be in the know,

but to be in the mystery!”

Pretty insightful and wise, huh?

Interestingly, you and I were born into a mind-centered world,

one that’s often referred to as ‘the Age of Intelligence,”

a world where an educated mind is valued and knowing is revered.

In such a world, if you’re all about living “in a state of mystery,”

well, you’re probably not going to be the life of any party.

That said, though, let’s spend these few moments together

“living in the mystery”—the mystery of human existence,

the mystery of your very own self, the mystery of anything or everything.

In fact, let’s spend this time valuing, prizing and enjoying everything about

“being in the mystery.”

What we know, of course, is that, somewhere within us,

there is a pre-existing space dedicated to pure emptiness,

complete nowhere-ness and a quiet state of not-knowing!

That remarkable space is our internal quantum zone,

a non-space wherein the larger truth of everything in creation exists—

but the existence of that truth is much bigger than any human concept.

In this super-wise quantum zone, you and I are living in a state of pure mystery.

Here, we simply don’t care about understanding or explaining anything.

In fact, we’re perfectly happy ‘being dumb’ about it all.

We even find ourselves living contentedly in a state of deep peace,

all because we are perennially embracing mystery, living in mystery

and being mystery.

Join me now in a short journey into your very own state of mystery.

First of all, empty your mind of all thought.

Then, open your heart and greet its star resident—love.

Now, attune to your soul and drink in its waves of rich light.

Next, enter your energy field and gently ride its rippling currents of energy.

Now, feel your body’s electrical and chemical flows everywhere within you.

And, finally, open your deeper awareness to your quantum source,

to the quantum zone, where utter silence and emptiness reign supreme.

Here, in this emptied-out, silence-filled non-space,

every seeming belief or truth graciously gives way to pure mystery.

Here, you are living outside of human beliefs,

You’re devoid of human thought and beyond any human knowing.

In this space of incomprehensible mystery, you know nothing,

think nothing, believe nothing and judge nothing.

Happily, nothing makes any sense in this quantum zone.

What is here, though, as you’re now discovering,

is a beyond-knowing wisdom, an expansive vision,

an ever-present awareness that creation—

every aspect of creation, including your own human self—

can only be understood by looking at it through the eyes of mystery

and embracing it through the lens of magic.

Remain here with me for a moment—seeing through the eyes of mystery!

Looking outward through the lens of magic!

Embracing anything and everything beyond the level of the mind!

Even becoming one with its seeming craziness,

enjoying the paradox of its apparent silliness,

finding peace as you embrace its seeming absurdity

and as you lose yourself in its wacky, non-sensical playfulness!

In all these experiences,

notice how inner peace has just occupied a welcome space

in your human core.

Witness how you are more at ease with everything that makes no sense,

has no explanation and has otherwise looked so confusing.

Thank you for spending this sacred time with me, “living in the mystery,”

lodging in that deeper non-space where nothing makes any sense

and where everything is delightfully absurd!

Thank you for embracing mystery

and for beginning to see the light of inner peace

that mystery—and only mystery—can bring us!
